A Grounding Tradition

Jesse's family is featured in the Spring 2015 issue of Flora, the Duke Gardens magazine. In the article, he tells the story of how his kids touched the earth for the first time and discusses the value of Duke Gardens to the community. Public gardens, parks, trails, and any publicly available green space can be more than a simple place to pass the time or relax. They can be places where generations of community members can develop unique connections to the earth and each other.
